Heart On My Sleeve

This artwork depicts a figure making an irrational decision PHYSICALLY , when matters should’ve been taken figuratively/metaphorical. The metaphor in this case is: “When wearing your heart on your sleeve goes wrong, you should cut the arm off”. When in all reality, this is blasphemous. The figure is creating more harm by doing this… In all, you can’t try to force yourself to be something you aren’t. You CAN’T get rid of the genuine traits that make you who you are. It will always be double-edged sword. Instead, you must adjust, adapt, and become wiser from the experiences they’ve caused. Ultimately, it is better to grow from situations instead of trying to “cut them off” and act like they don’t exist. The forearm that is severed, is colored in duller shades in comparison to the right arm. This communicates decay/rot. To no surprise, the arm that is holding the knife isn’t in the best condition either, considering it isn’t all the way aligned. This isn’t the character’s first time going through this.
